Pool Service Software: Routes, Readings, and Recurring Billing
Last verified: 2026-09-04
Swimming pool service software runs a route of bodies of water: weekly stops, readings, chemical doses, photos, and a bill that repeats. Pool-builder design tools are a different search. This URL stays on maintenance and service — not CAD for a new pool.
Recurring mow routes without water chemistry live on lawn care business management. One-off landscape install sales belong on CRM for landscaping companies, not here.
The service week
- Route density. Stops clustered by neighborhood, rain delays, and tech assignment. Skimmer bills per serviced location, not per dip.
- Readings and doses. LSI / chemistry calculators and meter integrations (Skimmer documents Orenda-powered LSI and LaMotte on Scaling Up).
- Photos and issues. Equipment photos that survive a “the water was fine yesterday” dispute.
- One-time work orders beside the weekly clean — repairs, openings, closings.
- Recurring billing that does not require retyping 200 accounts each month.
- Customer portal / service reports so the homeowner sees what was dosed.
- Seasonality. Openings, closings, and freeze holds are calendar objects, not a generic “paused deal.”
Skimmer — per serviced location, published floors
| Criterion | Published floor | Per location |
|---|---|---|
| Getting Started (0–49 pools/month) | Starts at $49/month (includes 49 locations) | $1/month per serviced location |
| Scaling Up (50–1000) | Starts at $98/month (includes 49 locations) | $2/month per serviced location |
| Enterprise (1000+) | Custom | Volume quote |
Skimmer’s FAQ: you are billed once per month per serviced location regardless of visit count; unused locations that month are not billed. Scaling Up adds quotes, job management, route optimization, and the chemistry calculator. Choose Skimmer when the company is a pool route. It is weaker as a multi-trade home-service OS and as a marketing-agency client account system.
Jobber and Housecall Pro — multi-trade, not chemistry-native
Those field-service products can schedule a pool stop. They are not documented here as LSI dosing tools. Use them when pools share a roof with other trades. Plan dollars stay on the vendor pricing pages and on contractor CRM where already captured.
HighLevel — follow-up and booking, not the dose sheet
HighLevel can capture a new pool-service inquiry, run openings/closings campaigns, and house an agency’s pool-company client. It is not documented as route optimization or water-chemistry logging. Prices: GoHighLevel pricing.
